Orange Poached Pears

A special treat for the holiday season!

Ingredients: 

4 large pears (not overly ripe)
470 ml2 c. orange juice
5 ml1 tsp. vanilla extract
4-5 whole cloves

jar of caramel sauce (warmed)

Instructions: 

Slice pears in half and remove center/seeds. Place in sauce pan with the orange juice, vanilla, cloves, and cinnamon. Add a bit of water, if needed. Simmer over medium heat until pears are tender.

While still hot, transfer the pears into dessert dishes and drizzle with warm caramel sauce.
